Rotary on the Road at the Washington Pavilion, 301 S Main Ave, Sioux Falls, South Dakota 57104. Lunch payment by cash or check ONLY.
Rock is a 4th generation Sioux Falls native.  Having graduated from Augustana College with an Economics major and German minor, he worked in the fast food industry at his parent’s firm, Nelson’s Concessions, Inc., for a number of years.  In 1990, he created and grew Northern Plains Recycling, Inc. from a one person operation to 23 full-time employees.  It kept 998  50-ton railcars of paper products out of the Sioux Falls Landfill during its seven years of existence.  It shipped its products to 26 U.S. paper-recycling mills and exported to Korea, Japan, Canada and Mexico.
Since having sold his business, Rock has been employed by the Sioux Falls Development Foundation, Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce and Sioux Falls Regional Airport Authority as their International Marketing Director during the past eleven years.  It is his responsibility to assist the manufacturing and agricultural businesses within South Dakota and the Tri-State Region with their imported and exported products.
In short – his job is to ensure that these international shipments go as seamless as possible while seeking to reduce their international freight costs and transit times while creating better efficiencies in the use of freight equipment!  Rock is also the Executive Director of the “Great Plains International Trade Association”.
