The Impact of Infectious Diseases

On Monday, December 2nd, Rotarian and City of Sioux Falls Public Health Director Joe Kippley will moderate a panel on infectious diseases. The panel will consider the impacts of infectious diseases in South Dakota and across the world and what is being done to prepare for, prevent and treat them. Panelists are: Dr. Ashley Sands, Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist at Sanford Health; Josh Clayton, State Epidemiologist; and Dr. Ashok Kumar, District Director of “End Polio Now”. Dr. Kumar will also provide an update on Rotary's efforts to eradicate polio.

The buffet lunch will be available for purchase at the door beginning at 11:30 am. The menu will be: Fried Chicken, Roasted Potatoes, Macaroni Salad and Salad Bar.

The presentation, at the club’s regular weekly meeting, will be held at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance in Sioux Falls and will begin at noon. All Downtown Sioux Falls Rotary Club programs are open only to Rotarians and their guests. All programs are subject to the club's Privacy Policy. Local media are invited to attend to record the session.
