Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am originally from Larchwood, Iowa. My husband, Alma, and I enjoy camping, traveling, and going to concerts. I play flute at church and for various community events and fundraisers. I have been to every state in the U.S.
Why did you join Rotary Club of Downtown Sioux Falls?
I joined the Rotary Club of Downtown Sioux Falls to network with others in our business community, bring diversity to the group, and learn about pertinent issues in our community. Service is an important part of my life, and that is a core value of Rotary.
How has joining Rotary helped you develop/grow in your career?
Joining Rotary has given me the opportunity to meet new people and build relationships with businesses in our community who can benefit from the services our nonprofit offers.
Are you on any Rotary committees? If so, explain the value you have gotten from joining a committee.
I have served on the Membership Committee. That opportunity allowed me to become more active in Rotary and develop deeper relationships with others on the committee.
What other clubs/boards/nonprofits are you involved with?
I am a member of the Sioux Empire Society for Human Resource Management and SD RehabACTion. I serve on the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber board, SD Parent Connection board, Sioux Empire United Way board, the City of Sioux Falls Human Relations Commission, Pathways to Inclusive and Equitable Workplaces board, the State Board of Vocational Rehabilitation, Southeast Technical College Business Team advisory board, and USD Health Sciences advisory board.
What would you tell someone that is considering joining Rotary Club of Downtown Sioux Falls?
Rotary Club of Downtown Sioux Falls provides an opportunity to network with other business leaders, learn about high priority issues in our community, and be of service to others.
