Two-Part Election Series
Initiated Measure Prohibiting New Slaughterhouses
On Monday, October 10 we will meet at the Washington Pavilion Belbas Theater for the first of a two-part conversation regarding the initiated measure involving the construction of new slaughterhouses within the Sioux Falls’ City Limits. We will host a moderated conversation aimed at better understanding both sides of the issue. Individuals from both sides will debate the merits of the initiated measure on which Sioux Falls residents will vote November 8. Joining us today to encourage voting "No" on the ban will be Christine Erickson, former city council member and Chair of Sioux Falls Open for Business who currently serves as Executive Director for the South Dakota Trucking Association and Automobile Dealers Association; Glen Muller, Executive Director of South Dakota Pork Producers and Jeff Griffin, CEO of Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce. On October 24th the second conversation will take place with panelists encouraging voting "Yes" on the ban which includes Brendan Johnson, former United States Attorney and legal counsel for Smart Growth Sioux Falls, who is a partner with Robins Kaplan law firm.

We are offering a boxed lunches you can eat during the meeting or take with you. Boxed lunches will be available only if you pre-order using this link. Lunches will be available beginning at 11:30 am and the program begins at noon.
