Retail Convention Update & Making a News Outlet Profitable Today

They’re two industries that touch all of us – retail and media – and both are going through a period of similar evolution and disruption. Jodi Schwan is uniquely positioned to observe both. As the publisher of online news source Sioux, she is pioneering a new media model while chronicling the many other Sioux Falls industries – including retail – that are going through their own changing business models. Jodi will touch on the overall health of the Sioux Falls economy, market trends and upcoming development, along with detailing the changes in her own industry and how she believes they mirror changes in the retail industry, drawing on years of gaining national insight at the International Council of Shopping Centers’ annual RECON convention.

Networking and lunch from 11:30 am - noon with the program beginning at noon. Lunch costs $15, payable at the door. Programs are open to Rotarians and their guests. All programs are recorded and Facebook Live Streamed. Local media are invited to attend to record the session.

Rotary International is one of the premier service organizations in the world. The Rotary Club of Downtown Sioux Falls is among the largest 40 clubs in the world.
