Posted on Nov 01, 2016
Mayor Mike Huether, joined by Presidents, Rotarians and distinguished guests, declared Monday, Oct. 24 as World Polio Day in Sioux Falls.
Although 99% eradicated, two countries remain endemic (Afghanistan and Pakistan). One person can be a carrier, and that could affect anyone in ANY country who has not been vaccinated. Rotary has been leading the fight to end polio for 3 decades. Your contribution at endpolionow.org will be matched 2:1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

L-R: President Sioux Falls South Sawyer Vanden Heuvel; President Sioux Falls West Bob Bohm, Rotarian Charlotte Hofer, polio survivor Shirley Hofer; Mayor Mike Huether; President Downtown Sioux Falls Michelle Lavallee; President North Kim Erickson, and Area 8 Assistant District Governor Shelli Masek.
